Habib has over 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and administrative support across various universities both in Bangladesh and overseas. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Communication at Green University of Bangladesh. Throughout his teaching career, he taught courses such as Advocacy Campaigns and Environmental Communication, Digital Literacy and Media Psychology, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, Crisis Communication, and Public/Mass Communication at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Habib earned his PhD in Public Relations (PR) and Communication from Griffith University, Australia. The research was undertaken to explore the use of PR, communicative and media strategies in organizing campaigns on a social development issue of Bangladesh. This doctoral research equipped him with a solid foundation of five years of experience in conducting research at a reputed university in Australia.
His current research focus is much more interdisciplinary, which includes environmental and climate communication, sustainability, health promotion, digital psychology, migration, food security, media studies, public relations and corporate social responsibility. He also served as a RA at Griffith University, Australia.
Habib possesses industry experience through his involvement as a PR and communication expert in the private sector such as East West University, with responsibilities for managing the image of organization, networking with stakeholders and maintaining overall internal and external communications. He has keen interest in teaching and understanding the local and international media environment, organizational communication, entrepreneurship development, strategic communication, climate issues and environmental sustainability within the interplay of emerging technological, economic, social and political trends.
