The Center for Language and Cultural Studies (CLCS), Green University of Bangladesh proudly organized a vibrant and engaging event titled “ আঞ্চলিক ভাষার লড়াই ” on February 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the GUB campus. This event was organized by the CLCS in collaboration with Green University Club for Languages (GUCL) and chaired by the honourable director of CLCS, Dr. Serajum Munira.
The event saw distinguished guests, including the honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, honourable Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. M. Shahidullah, and honourable Registrar Captain (Navy) Shaikh Mohammad Salahuddin (LPR), graced the occasion to witness the enthusiastic participation of students from different departments. Moreover, three prominent personalities, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Associate Professor and Proctor, Department of Law, Dr. Md. Shariful Alam, Associate Professor, Department of Textile Engineering, and Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hossain Khan, Assistant Professor and Director, Department of JMC and Students’ Affairs, worked as the judges in the event.
The event aimed to celebrate the rich linguistic diversity of our region, providing students with a platform to express their thoughts and ideas in local dialects. It not only showcased the linguistic talents of the students but also emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting local languages.
The Vice Chancellor, along with esteemed Dean and the Registrar, attended the event as honored guests. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and underlined the university’s commitment to fostering a holistic educational environment.
The “ আঞ্চলিক ভাষার লড়াই ” event was a testament to the university’s dedication to encouraging intellectual discourse and cultural appreciation. Students, as active participants, demonstrated their linguistic prowess and deep connection to their roots.
