Preparation of report on accounting value added of private non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHS) and econometric model building assignment.

Research Experience in Action Research Program (Program of PKSF & IDA)

Project Director (Nov’02 to Oct’04) of a project undertaken by Palli Karma Sahayak

Foundation (PKSF) and IDA for extending micro credit to the poorest of the poor.

Responsibilities

Supervised the activities of the staff under FSP unit and project field staff working under the selected PO’S,
Implementing project component that includes beneficiary selection, group formation, savings mobilization, credit disbursement, credit recovery, reimbursement of IDA grants and management of disaster fund,
Assisted the Research Working Group (RWG) Team in developing a replicable micro credit model for the Poorest,
Supervised the data collection, cleaning and analysis for the preparation of report on FGD,
Conducted Case Study on borrowers, Case Study on POs, Participatory Wealth Ranking of the beneficiaries of FSP and preparation of other quarterly release of the project,
Supervised the process monitoring and impact evaluation including data cleaning, data analysis and report preparation of the FSP project,

(i) Statistical/ Research Officer (Nov’80 to Sep’97), Bureau of Manpower Employment & Training, Dhaka, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare & Overseas Employment.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for monitoring the project “promotion of self-employment and employment abroad for the skilled manpower of Bangladesh”,
Undertake training needs survey for the overseas job-seekers,
Responsible for the preparation of annual report, biennial establishment survey and other periodical publication of BMET,
Prepared institutional survey report focusing on labor market system in Bangladesh for the year 1989.

Conduct special survey on socio-economic background of seaman and fisherman of coastal areas for the year 1989.

(ii) Project Director (Oct’97 to Apr’98). The Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training under the Ministry of Overseas Employment for imparting training on foreign language to the prospective overseas job aspirants.

Monitoring & evaluation the program.

Involved with the preparation of project proposal on the evaluation of the project entitled improvement of railway services in Bangladesh undertaken by IMED, impact of RMG activities on the socio-economic position of vulnerable employees and on the total export of the country, impact of FSP project undertaken by PKSF , also development of questionnaire and preparation of the research reports

Consultancy records

(i) Worked as Quality control Officer in the study project “Oral contraceptive research and study of Bangladesh” sponsored by M/O Health and Family Planning and Canadian International Development Agency, 1989.

(ii) Worked as Data Management Officer in the study project “Compensation Payments and Family Planning in Bangladesh” sponsored by World Bank and NIPORT, Bangladesh, 1989.

(iii) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the project “Impact evaluation of Northwest Crop Diversification” undertaken by the government of Bangladesh, during March-June, 2010.

(iv) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the project ” Assessment of Access to the Coverage of Maternal Child Health and Family Planning Services Among Poor Women” undertaken by the government of Bangladesh during January to March, 2010. Responsible for preparing sample design and data analysis, writing report and presentation of the evaluation report.

(v) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the project in the project “Post Evaluation of the 24 District Based Industrial Estates Program of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC)” undertaken by the government of Bangladesh, during July-December, 2009. Responsible for assisting team leader for the preparation of sample design and data analysis, writing report and presentation of the evaluation report.

(vi) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the project in the study project “International Market Access for Jute Diversified Products (JPD) from Bangladesh” and was responsible for developing SWOT to identify major better performers in the JPD sub-scctors. The project was undertaken by HB consultant Pvt. Ltd. during January to April 2007.

(vii) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the study project “Post-evaluation of the Rehabilitation of Bangladesh Railway” undertaken by GOB, during April-June, 2005. Responsible for preparation of study tools for conducting the evaluation of the project supervising and, holding discussion with clients and preparation of report and presentation of report.

(viii) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the study project “Terminal Evaluation of Financial Services for the Poorest” undertaken by IDA and GOB during October to March, 2005. Responsible for the preparation of study tools and supervising field research activities, holding discussions with beneficiaries, NGO and preparation of reports.

(ix) Performed the responsibilities of statistician in the project “Water Supply and Sanitation in Coastal Belt (GOB-DANIDA) during January-May2012. Responsible for assisting the team leader to design the study and prepare questionnaire, designing data analysis plan, and developing suitable data analysis plan, conducting statistical tests and preparing reports.
