A.S.M. Kamrul Islam is a Lecturer at the Green Business School and the Program Coordinator of the Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at the Green University of Bangladesh. He holds a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Special Education and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology and Guidance, both from the University of Dhaka.

Kamrul enjoys engaging with people, sharing ideas, and collaborating on new initiatives. He thrives on thinking creatively and launching innovative plans, finding excitement in the challenges of new ventures. Alongside his academic journey, he has been deeply involved in extracurricular activities, volunteer organizations, social clubs, and competitions. These experiences have enriched his ability to connect with students, understand their psychology, and respond effectively to their needs.

As an educationist with a focus on educational psychology, Kamrul is dedicated to identifying students’ individual needs and aligning education with essential life skills. His goal is to prepare students to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution by recognizing and developing their potential. He strongly believes that every student possesses hidden talents that can be discovered and nurtured for meaningful growth.

Since September 2023, he has been actively teaching courses such as Introduction to Psychology (GED 207), Professional Life Skill Development (PSD 400), and Professional Ethics and Environmental Protection  (GED 409 & HUM 403). Additionally, he facilitates and coordinates training programs for both faculty members and students under CETL. Beyond classroom teaching, he is committed to advancing the quality of education in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on Sustainable Development Goal 4. His vision extends to equipping students not only with academic knowledge but also with the 21st-century life skills necessary for success.

 

A.S.M. Kamrul Islam has pursued a well-rounded career with experiences in academia, training, and social engagement. Since 2023, he has been working as a Lecturer at the Green Business School, Green University of Bangladesh, where he teaches and mentors students. In the same year, he also took on the role of Moderator of the Green University Debating Club (GUDC), fostering students’ critical thinking and communication skills. Additionally, he served as a PAN Disability Training Officer at the Centre for Disability in Development, contributing to inclusive education and disability awareness.

His earlier professional experiences include working as a Probationary Officer in Family Immigration Case Management at a USA-based Immigration Consultancy in 2022, where he gained international exposure and organizational skills. In 2020, he interned as a Special Educator at Dhaka Government Deaf High School, which deepened his understanding of special education and student psychology. His journey in social engagement began in 2018 as an Advocacy Team Member with Democracy International in Dhaka, where he participated in democratic awareness and advocacy initiatives.

A.S.M. Kamrul Islam has been recognized for his academic excellence through several honors and scholarships. He received the University Merit Scholarship from the University of Dhaka in 2023. Earlier, he was awarded the Education Board Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh, from 2012 to 2014 for outstanding results in the Junior School Certificate Examination in 2011. Additionally, he earned the Student Welfare Foundation Scholarship in the talent pool category in Cumilla in 2006. These accolades reflect his consistent dedication and high academic achievement throughout his educational journey.

His research interests include Educational Psychology, Educational Policy, Special Education, AI in Education, and Skill Development.

A.S.M. Kamrul Islam holds several prominent memberships and leadership roles. He has been the Moderator of the Green University Debating Club since 2023 and contributes as a Column Writer for The Dhaka Tribune and a Freelance Writer for Roar Bangla. He has served in advisory and leadership positions, including Advisor and Former General Secretary of Dhaka University Band Society (2022-23), Head of English Debate at Dhaka University Debating Society (2021-22), and Chief Adviser & Former Founding President of IER Debating Club (2019-2021). Additional roles include Deputy Secretary (HR), Education Entrepreneurs Society (2020-21), General Secretary, Kabi Jasimuddin Hall Debating Club (2020-21), and Workshop Secretary & Guitar Instructor, Kabi Jasimuddin Hall Cultural Forum (2019-20). He is also a Co-Founder of Provashi Application Software and previously worked with Democracy International (Dhaka).
